Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and fine-tune our defense logic to effectively mitigate complex DDoS attacks across the network and application layers
- Optimize and enhance current pipelines for automated threat detection, mitigation, and comprehensive reporting
- Collaborate with system administrators to drive the automation of operational tasks and infrastructure provisioning
- Develop and maintain robust APIs/interfaces to facilitate seamless integration of our defense capabilities into hosting products
- Manage and troubleshoot our high-availability and complex defense infrastructure, including active participation in a rotating on-call service schedule
Requirements
- Several years of experience in system-near development of highly available, scalable software artifacts using languages such as Go, C, Python, PHP, or Bash
- Experience in writing application logic with Lua scripting, particularly in combination with NGINX
- Practical hands-on experience operating and configuring NGINX as a reverse proxy, load balancer, or Web Application Firewall (WAF)
- A deep commitment to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation as core tenets of your engineering methodology
- Familiarity with advanced networking concepts, including BGP, flowspec, anycast routing, and a solid understanding of network protocols within Linux systems
- Excellent analytical skills for evaluating complex DDoS attacks, designing effective countermeasures, and continuously evolving our defense platforms
- Ability to communicate fluently in English with an international team
