Senior Engineer für Leitsystemautomation im Schiffbau (w/m/d) - PCS 7
About the Role
As a Senior Engineer (Automation) (m/f/d) in Marine Engineering, you will be involved in our projects from the definition phase to the implementation and thus help shape the future of shipping together with us. In your area of responsibility for automation, you are responsible for technical clarifications with the customer and subcontractors, the conception of subsystems, the implementation up to the tests and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of automation solutions with PCS 7, TIA, SIMIT for ships and boats as a team
- Development of concepts for the implementation of complex customer requirements, creation of project specifications and conducting clarifications with suppliers and customers, including software and hardware selection
- Processing of automated systems on board (management level, power management, drive) for the implementation of interfaces and complete solutions
- Conception and participation in simulation and training systems for ships and boats for use in FATs and customer training facilities
- Conducting function tests, optimizations, acceptances and handovers to customers (internal tests, factory, harbor and sea acceptance tests) as well as creating and updating documentation
- Analysis of customer tenders, support in requirement engineering (incl. opportunity and risk analysis), participation in offer preparation and participation in the on-call service (telephone support, max. 2 weeks per year)
Requirements
- Completed degree in automation, electrical, computer science or information technology or several years of professional experience in engineering/commissioning of automation projects with SIMATIC Manager, TIA or PCS 7
- Several years of engineering experience with PCS 7 (AS & OS) including hardware design as well as knowledge in shipbuilding (above/underwater) as an advantage
- Desirable knowledge in high-level programming (C#, .NET, Java) and willingness to travel worldwide for customer meetings, commissioning, sea trials or sales support
- Personal skills: precise and accurate work, self-responsibility, resilience, organizational skills, commitment and excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Structured and goal-oriented work approach with experience in lean and agile approaches, willingness to participate in military projects and no connection to countries on the German state list
- Fluent German and English skills
