Shopware is a leading provider of SaaS solutions that power thousands of online shops worldwide. As a SaaS Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in scaling and evolving the Shopware application to deliver a seamless experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Improve the scalability, maintainability, and performance of our SaaS application
- Design and build features that enhance the functionality and usability of our SaaS offering
- Work hands-on with PHP (Symfony) and Shopware to identify and resolve bottlenecks
- Enhance our multi-tenant application stack running on cloud infrastructure
- Improve and inspect containers used to deploy and run Shopware
- Implement and improve observability (OpenTelemetry, Datadog, etc.) for better insights and reliability
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with product goals
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues, ensuring smooth operation and high availability
- Take ownership of services and drive improvements across the SaaS platform
Requirements
- Proven experience with PHP (Symfony) and modern web application development
- Solid understanding of MySQL, Redis/Valkey, OpenSearch, and web servers (Apache/Nginx)
- Practical experience with containers (Docker) and cloud-hosted environments
- Familiarity with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Blackfire, Datadog, or similar
- A hands-on approach and a sense of ownership for running production systems
- Experience collaborating across teams and working directly with customers
- A problem-solving mindset and a drive for continuous improvement
